Coastal sensors (Trophimatique)
New miniaturised in situ sensors, capable of high frequency analysis.

New designs and first uses of new sensors: Trophimatique aims at producing a multi-parameter probe, remotely operated, with a water sampler, and chemical onboard analysers (CHEMINI).
These onboard analysers can measure :
Nitrates, Silicates, Phosphates, and Ammonium.
|STATE OF DEVELOPMENT|
The probe multisensor is developed and finished. It has been tested in situ satisfactorily, and can even be adapted to 2 buoy models (SMATCH and MOLIT) depending on the needs (surface and/or depth sampling).

- Can be used to validate several Water Framework Directive criteria for water characterization

This knowledge can be transferred to any other site with coastal waters, and could probably be used on lake or river sensors as well.
Public organisations such as local authorities to monitor their chemistry contamination levels, consultancy offices for the same purpose.

Some sensors already exist to monitor coastal waters.

- prototypes have been tested at sea and proven to work succesfully
- in some cases, storms can incur the loss of a buoy.
